Major Changes to Adwords System

Google will soon be implementing a significant change in their Adwords system. Currently, Google tags keywords as either normal, in trial, on hold, or disabled. This system of labeling is being replaced by two tags: active or inactive. Remember when delivery of advertisements would slow if they were not performing well? That is also going out the window. With the new active or inactive keywords, Google will not need to slow bids down.

The new system will allow anyone to advertise on any keyword as long as they are willing to pay for it. If an account continually has one keyword that gets disabled for not meeting Google’s standards, but you still want to advertise on it: just raise the maximum bid.

The theme of the new changes still revolves around Google’s desire for relevant content. Advertisers who maintain a high quality score will be rewarded by having a lower cost per click. For more information, check out Google’s help center.
