Adwords Video Questions - Running the Business

adwords and clickbank strategies | adwords education

Here's a question about the Google Videos I got from someone
and my answer, which might be good to check out if you are
considering doing Adwords for a living:

First, the question:

comments: Hello Steve,Loved your google adwords video. It's a great primer on using PPC marketing.

I have a few questions about your complete video series, but first a quick
rundown on my background.I have been a fulltime webmaster and web designer
for the last 4 years.

I have built all types of sites for customers, ran my own networks, marketed
clickbank ad copy sites (using PPC for promotion), etc. but recently have
found myself interested in the next level of site promotion using PPC ads
only.

I have had some levels of sucess, but the other day I came across a
business for sale on eBay that blew me away. (You can email me for the link)

Now, I have read a lot of google adword ebooks, training videos, seminars
and everything else you can imagine and have never came close to the sales
and effective promotion that this site has acheived.

Do your products cover the granular details of ppc strategies that can produce results like this?

Thanks again for your time.

Best Regards,
Thomas

The answer:

Well Thomas, I don't want to promise you the moon
like a lot of "gurus" out there.

These videos weren't created for professional
webmasters like you, but more our clients,
who are not webmasters and needed to learn
how to manage their own google accounts.

The only requirements assumed are the abilityto surf the net, and be able to fill out forms and check your email.

As far as the actual Click Through ratios (1-5%)
and cost per click go, (around 46 cents)described in that auction,
that is nothing special, we do that day in and day out,
although I have no idea about what industries he
is targeting, so there is nothing to compare it to.

If he is doing that with Mortgage Loans, for example,
I can't touch him. If he is doing that with Health
and wellness, then it is about average, so I can't
really say.

Some areas of google you can still get a lot
of 7 cent clicks, but the competition has been
steadily heating up, and certain affiliate models
that were amazing even 2 years ago are just
no longer viable. But the cost per visitor
is still what I would call an "inefficient market",
meaning some industries are actually overpaying
and overbidding, while other industries have
been slow to tap the potential of ppc.

The game is to know where the inefficiencies
are and how to exploit them in order to turn
those visitors not just into quick cash, but
create a viable thriving internet business that
makes money now, and has a future in it.

But what I just described above is really beyond
the scope of the videos as that is not their
primary purpose. They assume that you have
a site that converts somewhat, and you just
want to get as much traffic to it as you can
for the least amount possible, and you want
to manage the account yourself.

Call and talk to Drew at 727 465-0944 and
he can explain better what the videos have
and don't have, and you can make a better decision
as far as the videos go

As far as the auction goes it was a good read
for sure. I have been marketing on the internet since
1997 and I have seen literally hundreds of
"too good to be true" things on the net, and
If I had a site that produced those kind of profits,
I would never resort to trying to sell it on Ebay.

I would sell it quietly to one of my friends/investors
or I would just hire some additional staff to run it
much like I do now. So, I think there is something
not quite right about the auction. A 2 day escrow
is the first red flag, usually these kinds of deals have
something like a 30 day due diligence period and
a few other things.

Plus the revenue is not Growing, it is flat, so there could be some factors threatening
the business that he isn't mentioning. Caveat Emptor, my friend!!

Best Regards,

-Steve
